Book Association: Life of Pi - Part 3

February's book Life of Pi has ready sparked some discussions on the CWAtC forums. The last two weeks we covered animals and nautical themes. This week is going to be about books that take place in India. Did any of your guesses make the list?

A Fine Balance

A Fine Balance - Set in 1975, where a government ordered State of Emergency has caused upheaval in the lives of four strangers when they are forced into sharing a cramped apartment.

The Namesake
The Namesake - Starting with the Ganguli family in traditional Calcutta into their transition to the United States.

The God of Small Things

The God of Small Things - In 1969, twins Esthappen and Rahel struggle to build a childhood in the dysfunction of their life.

Midnight's Children
Midnight's Children - Saleem Sinai's life is mirrored and magnified in events that sway the course of national affairs; his health and well-being are inextricably bound to those of his nation; his life is inseparable, at times indistinguishable, from the history of his country.

The White Tiger
The White Tiger - A first person confession of a murderer set in a raw India.

Next week we'll link Life of Pi to books that are Booker Prize winners.
